George Sfougaras’ work exists between art, politics, geography and culture, using symbols and metaphors to create a visual narrative.
This work was created as a juxtaposition of the neglection of the soles of our shoes, but how essential they are for protection and the journey they take us on. Sfougaras lived in Gelding in 1980s and always felt an outsider in this tough community.
Sfougaras has worked with international partners and held residencies in German, Greece and Israel. He is a member of Leicester Print Workshop.
