Joao Villas was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and completed an MA in Print at Royal College of Art in 2019. He has been exhibited worldwide and has been selected for a number of Film Festivals, including Vienna, Cannes and Prague where he was awarded prizes. He has also received the Gwen May Award, the Royal Academy of Painters / Printmakers in 2020 and ‘Best work’ at the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition.
