Michael OβShea was born in Sydney, Australia and currently lives and works in Edinburgh. He is an artist, illustrator, printmaker and designer, working predominantly in relief printmaking, with a background in graphic design and passion for craft and printmaking.
OβShea is inspired by 20th century art and design and this work is one of a series that focuses on remembered landscapes, developed in response to the restricted travel during the pandemic. Each print has started as a larger piece and then edited the composition by cutting elements away. His aim is to capture a very personal and subjective snapshot in time, the way a memory would.
OβShea is the Creative Director / Owner of Association Design Agency and is a lecturer in Design at Edinburgh College of Art. He has received four D&AD Awards and 14 Scottish Design Awards.
