About the artist:
Stefan Tiburcio is fascinated in the simple moments experienced within his day-to-day activities. This has recently been explored through depictions of himself, reflecting on personal situations such as well-being and interactions between other people and the space they occupy. Primarily working from observational drawing and memory, the consideration of rhythms and compositional structure have fed into his practice of drawing, printmaking and animation. The three being dependent on one and another.
Tiburcio completed The Drawing Year at the Royal Drawing School in 2017 and is currently working as the Art and Display Technician at Latymer School. He has been awarded the Hesketh Hubbard Drawing Bursary, the Moritz-Heyman Residency and in 2021 he was the winner of the inaugural Fen Ditton Gallery Contemporary Printmaking Prize.
