Grids of Botanical Colour is a handwoven textile exploring the depth and vibrancy of colour created from homegrown botanical dyes. Woven in wool on a 24-shaft loom, the work brings together a geometric grid with a rich naturally dyed palette, exploring how colours interact, overlap and shift across the surface of the cloth. Ikat dyeing is incorporated into the process, creating subtle movement within the grid and allowing individual shades to change in relation to one another.
